Introduction

In addition to acting as the umbrella body for all of the National Governing Bodies of sport and physical recreation (NGBs), the WSA is working to help modernise the management of key sports in the Principality - with the intention of rolling out good practice across the whole of Welsh sport in the fullness of time. We are currently assisting 14 sports; athletics, badminton, canoeing, cricket, cycling, disability sports, golf, gymnastics, hockey, netball, squash, swimming, tennis, and yachting; to deliver robust, representative, accountable and inclusive leadership and governance. "Sport and physical recreation has become a huge political and social issue and the WSA plays a vital role in helping to modernise the way competitive sports and outdoor pursuits are managed and promoted in the Principality."
