Tipping the Balance - Towards Active Ageing Conference

The BHF National Centre for Physical Activity and Health are delighted to be able to announce the launch of their 6th annual conference - Tipping the Balance - Towards Active Ageing on Monday 18th and Tuesday 19th September at Loughborough University.
The focus on this year's conference will be upon the importance of physical activity for older people in promoting Active Ageing, independence and well being.
The two day conference comprising 10 keynote presentations and a choice of 6 parallel sessions, will provide an update on the key policy drivers and evidence base related to active ageing, an overview of the important contribution of physical activity towards disease prevention, independence and well being among older people.
Keynote speakers include the internationally renowned Professor Wojtek Chodsko-Zajko, chair of the US Active Aging Partnership, a national coalition in the area of healthy aging, Dr Nancy Whitelaw, Director, Center for Healthy Aging and The National Council on the Aging (USA), the Department of Health’s National Director, for Older People and Neurological Conditions, Professor Ian Philp, and Professor Alan Walker, Professor of Social Policy and Social Gerontology, University of Sheffield currently directing the ESRC,
EPSRC, BBSRC and MRC New Dynamics of Ageing Research Programme.
