New Vacancy: Football Development Officer (Welsh Football Trust)

The Welsh Football Trust is seeking an individual with the necessary enthusiasm and commitment to make a difference to the development of football in the Gwent County FA area.

Central to the role will be the strategic coordination of all foundation Coach Education for the Gwent County FA. The post holder will also be expected to lead tutor training, assessing and verifying within the area. In addition they will direct and lead tutor the FAW C Certificate.


The post holder will also be responsible for leading the boys, girls and disability player development programmes within Gwent County FA and will provide support to regional and national player development where required.

On a local level, the post holder will be working directly with clubs from the Newport and District JFL, supporting the growth in participation and volunteers and will also deliver Level 1 coach education courses.

Office accommodation for this post will be provided by Newport County Council at the Newport Swimming and Tennis Centre.

Key competencies required:

  • Demonstrable, sustained experience of football coaching in a player development environment
  • Experience of coach education tutoring/delivery and coach mentoring in football
  • Present or previous involvement in a junior football development scheme
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
  • The UEFA 'B' Licence is an essential qualification
