New Vacancy: Sports Centre Manager (Bangor University)

Bangor University is seeking a qualified and experienced Sports Centre Manager to take a lead role in the day-to-day operation of the University's sports facilities.

Based across 3 sites, Bangor University has a range of indoor and outdoor sports provision and is in the process of expanding the sporting offer to students.

The University's unique geographical position enables students to experience some of the best mountain and water based sporting facilities in the UK alongside the more traditional team and individual sports within the British Universities and Colleges (BUCS) sport framework. The facilities also serve the local community.

The post holder will have experience in a supervisory role either in a local authority or education environment and be familiar with the demands of student sport. Experience in the promotion of sport and physical activity would be an advantage in the role as would evidence of coaching, performing or officiating in sport. Based in the Maes Glas Sports Centre, the Centre Manager will be expected to manage a range of staff and contractors.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or have equivalent experience, either of which will be supplemented by an industry specific portfolio of continued professional development. In addition, the Centre Manager should be comfortable operating CRM software specific to the Health and Leisure sector as well as a high level of computer literacy.

The post may require some evening and weekend work to suit the needs of the business.

The ability to speak Welsh, or demonstrate a willingness to learn, is essential for this post.
