Swansea welcomes the first Paralympics training camp

On the 30th March Paralympics New Zealand swimming team had a pleasant welcome from the children at Bishop Gore Comprehensive School, at the Welsh National Pool in Swansea.
The seven elite swimmers were staying in Swansea, prior to competing in the British International Disability Swimming Championships in Sheffield this week, and were thrilled at the opportunity to meet with the children.
Sophie Pascoe, from the team said "It has been great to see Wales and stay in Swansea. It has been lovely to meet the children and give them a taste of athlete life, we had a wonderful time this morning, I am so pleased with my postcard."
The team who will be returning to Swansea in August for their training camp, ahead of the London 2012 Paralympic Games. Deb Shattock, PNZ Logistics Manager "Thank you to all involved, it was a short and sweet trip but I know the team are itching to come back in August."

Their posters were extremely well received and the athletes were very impressed by the very high standard and quality of the work presented. They made a real contribution to the athletes experience of Wales and of Swansea".
