£75m jobs scheme for Wales

Phil Avery on 25/04/2012

The Welsh Government has launched “Jobs Growth Wales”. This £75m scheme hopes to create 12,000 new job opportunities.

It will help provide jobs for those aged between16 to 24, for a six-month period. Those involved must be paid at or above the National Minimum Wage for a minimum of 25 hours weekly.

It is hoped that this will also help employers to expand their businesses and make the posts permanent. Employers wishing to be involved will need to show that the jobs are new ones. Targeted areas include graduates, green jobs and micro businesses.
