Boccia success at Czech Open

Paul Dancey on 29/05/2012

Over the weekend a small squad from the Boccia Academy travelled out to Prague to compete at the Czech Open. They didn't disappoint as they returned with 3 medals.

Four players flew out to represent Wales at the Czech Open in Prague. Martin Davis (Cardiff) attended his first international competition, whilst experienced players Karl Parrish (Caldicot), James Bailey (Cardiff) and Tomas Martin (Cardiff).

Davis marked his debut with an outstanding performance coming away with a Bronze medal in the BC2 classification group.

As always the BC3 (players who use a ramp to deliver the balls) classification group was keenly contested with James Bailey coming away with Silver whilst Karl Parrish snatched the Bronze.

In the BC4 group Tomas Martin didn't progress through the group stages by only the nearest of margins, missing out by a single point to progress.

The squad now turns their attention to the Cheshire International Open that will be staged in Wigan in June.
