New vacancy: Championship Manager (Golf Union of Wales)

An exciting job opportunity has arisen within the Golf Union of Wales and we are now seeking suitable applicants for the role of Championship Manager, with responsibility for our portfolio of championships.

Reporting to the Chief Executive the post holder will be responsible for planning and managing the annual GUW Championship/Events schedule (including Home Internationals and European amateur events when staged in Wales), developing the staging of domestic and international events in Wales to ensure they are run to the highest level, and preparation and management of the Championship Budget.

Applicants should have experience of managing budgets as well as a sound knowledge of golf and the Rules of Golf. Experience of staging golf events and sound knowledge of the golf industry is essential.

The Championship Manager will work as one of a small team of managers within the GUW and be expected to play a full and active part in the on-going development of golf in Wales.
