Following a staffing restructure WYA is seeking to appoint a new South Regional Club Development Officer.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the post holder will be primarily responsible for developing and delivering the WYA's participation and club development activities in South Wales by providing help and support to member clubs and partner organizations.

The post holder will be locally responsible for overseeing the development of the OnBoard programme and work with Local Authorities and other partners to develop participation and to ensure retention in clubs.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and the capacity to plan and manage an annual work programme that incorporates a number of different projects, and a technical understanding of club/sports development and the recognised junior and youth classes. The successful candidate will also have a proven track record in the leadership and management of diverse groups of people in a co-operative way.

The post is based at the WYA's South Regional Office at the National Sports Centre, Sophia Gardens, Cardiff and involves some travel and work outside office hours. Due to the wide range of partnerships linked to this position the ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh is desirable.
