Consultation on the proposed Natural Resources Body for Wales

A further public consultation on the creation of a Natural Resources Body for Wales got under way earlier this month.

This latest consultation focusses on two key areas. The duties of the new body for the management of Wales’ natural resources, and the legal and working arrangements of the body.


Proposed cross-cutting and specific duties cover natural beauty and nature conservation, public access and recreation, forestry and other overarching duties.

Working arrangements look at such things as cross-border issues, regulation, enforcement and inspection, including civil sanctions and investigatory powers.
