Public consultation commences for Ebbw Vale race track

Paul Dancey on 24/08/2012

A public consultation on the proposed £150m race track at Ebbw Vale has begun with an exhibition to outline the current plans for the site.

The organization behind the scheme, the Heads of the Valleys Development Company, hope to transform 830 acres of Blaenau Gwent into the Circuit of Wales, a world-class automotive complex centred around a performance circuit designed to host international events such as MotoGP, World Superbikes, World Motocross and World Touring Car.

The company believe that what is being billed as the most significant capital investment programme in automotive infrastructure in the UK in the last 50 years, will wholly regenerate the area, providing unrivalled opportunities in job creation, tourism, and research and development.

The company are currently aiming to submit a planning application to Blaneau Gwent County Borough Council by the end of the year.
