At this year's WSA AGM in Cardiff the Association chair, Anne Ellis, presented the 2012 Administrator of the Year award to Gwyneth Watson (pictured right) from Snowsport Cymru Wales.

In proposing Gwynedd for the award, Robin Kellen the Chief Executive of Snowsport Cymru Wales wrote: "She has worked tirelessly as a volunteer administrator organising events for the national governing body for the past 15 years.

"Gwyneth runs our events from local through to international championships entirely on a voluntary basis giving her weekends and evenings entirely to the preparation and delivery of these events.

"In the past seven years Gwyneth has also contributed significantly to Wales’ ability to deliver international events by helping to establish, organise and manage our Welsh Alpine Championships (in Norway and now in Switzerland). As a result of the latter Wales now has achieved an excellent reputation for organising international alpine ski races.

"Through the reputation and respect she has gained, Gwyneth is now also assisting with the delivery of the British Alpine Championships.

"Gwyneth is a board member of the NGB (Events Director) and is also responsible for the training and development of officials in Wales.

"It would be fantastic if Gwyneth’s contribution to sport was to be recognised on a wider scale throughout Wales."
