WSA Training Programme for NGBs

The Welsh Sports Association is committed to providing its members with topical workshops and training, designed to help improve skills and tackle key issues and problems.

Finance Training for Board Members

If you sit on a National Governing Board and your accounts are a bit of a mystery or you are unsure of what you have been asked to approve at board meetings, then Finance Training for Board Members is for you.

We currently have two Finance Training Workshops taking place on 8th May 2013 (6pm - 9pm) and 12th June 2013 (6pm - 9pm). Both workshops will be held at Sport Wales National Centre, Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, CF11 9SW.

Video Conferencing to Sport Wales regional offices can be organised for these workshops if requested in advance.

The training workshops will cover the following topics:

Workshop (1) 8th May 2013
Understanding Finance (Profit & Loss, Bank Statements, Assets and Registers, Liabilities, Accruals & Management Accounts)

Workshop (2) 12th June 2013
Strategic Financial Management and Regulatory issues (Long term planning, Financial risk/decision making, VAT, Procurement and Procedures, Directors' responsibilities and Company's Act).

Please note it is not requirement to attend both workshops.

Training places are strictly limited and available on a first come first served basis.
