Welshmen Sit Tight for their Big Olympic Decision

Two Welsh rowers are sitting tight before discovering if they will be part of the most famous crew in British history, the Olympic four. Either Tom James or Tom Lucy could be in the boat, which was made famous in previous Olympics as the crew which took Sir Steve Redgrave and Sir Matthew Pinsent to their multiple medals. Full story

Tour De France Rider Thomas Goes in The Abergavenny Grand Prix

Tour de France ace Geraint Thomas is set to ride in Wales - and under the Welsh flag - for the first time in years when he takes part in the Abergavenny International Festival of Cycling this month. The 23-year-old from Cardiff only finished the second biggest road race in the world at the start of the month when completing the Giro d'Italia for his Continental team Barloworld. Full story

Baseball Celebrates 100 Years of Internationals

It was once known that an international baseball match between Wales and England could attract as many people as would watch Cardiff City or Swansea at football. During the 1950s and 60s, anywhere between 10,000 and 15,000 people would gather around the diamond in Roath Park, Cardiff, to see the reds take on the whites in their annual contest. Full story

Jamie Jones has Learnt from his Mistakes

Neath’s Jamie Jones admits he has learnt lessons from a debut year on snooker's biggest stage to take into his second attempt which starts in August. The 20-year-old had his first taste of professional snooker on the Main Tour, that includes players like reigning world champion Ronnie O'Sullivan, during 2006/07 but lost his place and had to return to the Welsh amateur ranks. Monty Wants Wales' Ryder Cup to be Extended to Four Days

No less a person than golf legend Colin Montgomerie believes that the Ryder Cup, to be held in Newport two years from now, should be extended to a four-day competition. Weather conditions were awful before the Wales Open, which was played over the course that Europe and America will be battling it out for the famous trophy in 2010. Full story

Dragon Cycling is Launched

A new initiative to build a senior Welsh cycling team, after years of the red jersey missing from international events, has been launched. Dragon Cycling, the brainchild of Welsh Cycling Union president Bill Owen, is aimed at nurturing and underpinning the performance of riders but from an independent funding source, so not pulling on limited resources of the sport's mainstream bodies, such as the WCU. Welsh high jump champion Julie Crane wants to put 14 months of injury heartache behind her in the next two months and book a plane ticket to China. Crane, 31, won the 2006 Commonwealth Games silver medal and has set her heart on qualifying for her first Olympic Games. Full story
